The onboarding path of a new workspace, stage by stage, with the product areas that are open at each stage and what Prescient does while you wait.

A new workspace goes through five stages before every product area opens. You connect your data, you confirm the totals that Prescient read, and then your Prescient team builds your models. During this time, Data Center is the one product area that is open.

Data Center shows the stages in the list Your onboarding, with a count of the stages that are complete.

StageWhat the product says
Welcome aboardYou've joined Prescient.
Connect your dataProvide data for measurement.

You do work in two of the stages: Connect your data and Validate your data. For the steps of each, see Complete onboarding in Data Center.

The first screen has the heading Welcome to Prescient! Let’s begin by connecting your data. It names the three kinds of data that you connect: revenue, advertising, and web analytics. Select Start onboarding to open the guided steps in Data Center.

SubjectRule
Areas open during onboardingWhile onboarding is in progress, Data Center is the only product area that is open. Each other item of the sidebar shows a lock.
Attribution during onboardingAttribution can open before onboarding is complete, with reported figures only, when your reported data is ready to review.
Settings and Account during onboardingThe Settings page and the Account page stay open during onboarding.
When onboarding is completeEach product area opens when the onboarding of the workspace is complete.

While onboarding is in progress, the sidebar shows a card with the heading Onboarding in progress. The card is a link to Data Center. An area that is not open yet shows a lock, and its tooltip reads Available once onboarding is complete.

Attribution can open before the other areas. When your reported data is ready to review, the lock on Attribution opens, and its tooltip says that modeled results unlock once onboarding is complete.

At this point Attribution shows reported figures only. The modeled figures come when your models are ready. For the difference, see Modeled and reported figures.

Two of the stages are a wait. Data Center shows a screen for each one.

  • After you connect your data. Prescient collects and prepares the last 24 months of revenue, spend, and business events from your connected sources. The screen says that this runs overnight and that the data is typically ready to review the next business day.
  • After you confirm your data. Your Prescient team calibrates your models against the data that you confirmed. The screen does not give a time for this stage.

Each screen says that Prescient emails you when the stage is done, so you can leave the page.

An Admin connects the channels and confirms the totals. A Viewer can follow the progress and sees the totals, but only an Admin can confirm or flag a number. For the two roles, see Roles and members.

Each product area opens, and Data Center changes from the guided steps to its three tabs: Channels, Integrations, and Tactics.

A good first hour looks like this.

  1. Open Prescient AI and read the state of your data and the recommendation of the day.
  2. Open Model Center and check how accurate each model is.
  3. Open Attribution and compare the modeled figures with the reported figures.
  4. Follow the lesson Build your first plan in Media Forecaster.
  5. In Data Center, label your campaigns with tactics, so that Attribution can group them.
