Media Forecaster

Find, duplicate, rename, share, and delete Media Forecaster plans, and view the settings that a finished plan ran with.

You manage plans from the plans list on the Media Forecaster page and from the header of each plan page. The settings of a finished plan are locked, so you duplicate a plan to change its settings.

Use the search box and the filters above the plans list.

  • Type in Search plans… to search the list.
  • Use the owner filter to show All owners, My plans, or the plans of one person.
  • Use the status filter to show plans that are Queued, Processing, Ready, or Failed.
  • Use the mode filter to show Optimization or Forecast plans.
  • Use Public and Private to filter by visibility.
  • Select a column heading to sort the list. Select Clear to remove the filters.

The list shows 15 plans on each page. A lock icon next to a plan name marks a private plan.

How do you change the settings of a finished plan?

Section titled “How do you change the settings of a finished plan?”

You cannot change the settings of a finished plan, because the results depend on the settings. Duplicate the plan, change the settings in the copy, and run the copy.

  1. In the plans list, open the menu of the plan and select Duplicate.

You can also select Duplicate in the menu of the plan page header.

  2. Change the settings in the wizard.

The copy has the name of the original with the prefix “Copy of”. If the planning period of the original started before today, the copy keeps the length of the period and starts today. A weekly plan starts at the next week boundary. If the campaigns of your account changed after the original plan, the wizard tells you how many campaigns from the original “aren’t available here” and how many campaigns were not in the original. The new campaigns are not selected.

  3. Select Run plan.

To see the settings that a plan ran with, open the plan, open the header menu, and select View configuration. The settings that the results depend on are locked on the configuration page. Under Name & sharing, you can change the name, the description, and Visibility, then select Save. The page shows Plan updated. and returns to the plan. The plan creator can save these changes. An Admin can also save them for a plan that is not private.

The page states the rule: “Only name, description and visibility can change here. Duplicate the plan to edit anything else.” Select Duplicate to edit on that page to start a copy.

Open the plan and select Make public. Everyone on your team can then see the plan. Select Make private to return the plan to private.

The button shows to each person who can see the plan. The change is saved only for the plan creator, and for an Admin on a plan that is not private. For any other person, the product shows “You don’t have permission to edit this plan.”

You can also set Visibility to My team on the Review & run step when you create a plan. A new plan is private by default.

  1. In the plans list, open the menu of the plan.

  2. Select Rename, type the new name in Plan name, and select Save.

To delete the plan, select Delete, then select Delete in the confirmation.

Rename and Delete appear for the owner of the plan. A company admin can also rename or delete a plan that is not private. Open and Duplicate appear for every person who can see the plan.
