# Roles and permissions in Data Center

> Reference for what an Admin and a Viewer can each do in Data Center, on the three tabs and during onboarding.

This page lists the actions of each role in Data Center. An Admin can change each connection. A Viewer can read each tab and can label campaigns with tactics. [Roles and members](https://docs.prescientai.com/reference/account/roles-and-members) is the main page for the two roles, and it defines each role.

The product text uses the words admin and account admin for the Admin role.

## Actions by role

| Connect, reconnect, or change the credentials of a channel                           | Admin            | The row menu shows for each person. For a Viewer, the setup dialog opens, and Data Center refuses the change with a permission message.                                  |
| Use the **Manage** menu of a hosted connect card: sync, pause, resume, or disconnect | Admin            | A Viewer who uses an item gets a permission message.                                                                                                                     |

## Tactics

| Who can manage tactics | Only an Admin can add, rename, or delete a custom tactic.           |

## Onboarding

| Subject              | Rule                                                                   |
| -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Who can confirm data | Only an Admin can confirm or flag a number. A Viewer sees the numbers. |

## View of a Viewer

- **Add channel**, **Add integration**, and **Manage tactics** do not show.
- The menu of a channel row shows each item. Data Center refuses each action that needs an Admin. **Edit connection** and **Data patch** open their dialogs, and Data Center refuses the change at the save.
- An empty **Channels** tab shows the line **Ask an admin to add the channels you want to measure.**

| **You don't have permission to manage this connection.** | You are a Viewer, and the action needs an Admin. |

> **Copy setup link works for a Viewer:** **Copy setup link** in the menu of a channel row works for a Viewer. The link opens the setup dialog of that channel for an Admin.
