# Limits

> The limits that the Prescient GraphQL API defines for page size, date ranges, and failed sign-in, and the limits that it does not define.

This page lists each limit that the API defines. It also lists the limits that the API does not define, so you do not have to guess.

## Which limits does the API define?

### Page size

A `modeledMetrics` or `reportedMetrics` response has 5,000 rows at most. The queries have no argument that changes this number. To get more rows, follow the cursor. See [Pagination](https://docs.prescientai.com/api/pagination).

### Default date range

If you leave out `startDate`, the range starts 30 days before today. If you leave out `endDate`, the range ends today. The API uses the date in UTC.

### Failed authentication

After 5 requests from one IP address fail authentication in 10 minutes, the API blocks that IP address until the 10 minutes end. During the block, each request from that address gets the authentication error, and this includes a request with a correct key.

A request with a correct key does not count toward this limit.

If your integration gets the authentication error with a key that worked before, stop the retries. Wait 10 minutes, then send one request.

## Which limits does the API not define?

The API does not define a value for these items, so this page gives none.

- The number of requests in a period of time, for a request that authenticates.
- The longest date range of one query.
- The number of IDs in `campaignIds`.
- The depth or the size of a query.

The schema recommends one pull of updates each day, with the `processDate` argument. See [Sync only the rows that changed](https://docs.prescientai.com/api/sync-only-changed-rows).

A request with a long date range returns many pages. Run the pages one after the other, not at the same time.
