# Workspaces and organizations

> Why the product uses more than one word for the same thing, what belongs to a workspace, and what belongs to you as a person.

A workspace is the unit that holds the data, the models, the plans, the members, and the subscription of one organization in Prescient AI. Each thing that you see in the product belongs to the workspace that is open.

## Which words does the product use?

These docs use one word, workspace. The product uses more than one word for the same thing.

- **Workspace** is on the **Settings** page, for example in the **Workspace** tab and in the text of the **Members** tab.
- **Organization** is in the menu **Switch organization**, in the page **No organization access**, and in some messages.
- **Company** is in some messages of the **API keys** tab.

All three words mean the same thing.

## What belongs to the workspace?

- **The display currency.** One currency labels the money figures for each member.
- **The members and their roles.** Your role is a property of your membership, not of you. You can be an Admin in one workspace and a Viewer in a different one.
- **The API keys.** A key gives access to the data of one workspace.
- **The subscription.** Billing and access apply to the workspace as a unit. See [Subscriptions and access](https://docs.prescientai.com/account/subscription-and-access).

## What belongs to you?

- **Your name and your email.** They are the same in each workspace.
- **Your sign-in.** One email signs you in to each workspace that you are a member of. A password, if you set one, belongs to your account.
- **Your cookie settings.** They belong to the browser, not to the workspace and not to your account.

## What happens when you leave a workspace?

When an Admin removes you, the confirmation that the Admin sees says that you lose access to that workspace at your next sign-in. It also says that your account and your other workspaces do not change. If you are then a member of no workspace, the product shows the page **No organization access** after you sign in.
